General Operative – Panel Manufacturing

Established in 1978, we are manufacturers and designers of Composite Panels and Systems. Mainly operating in the Commercial Vehicle sector, our Panel Manufacturing plant in Pocklington East Yorkshire is seeking Full time, Permanent General Operatives.

We need self-motivated individuals who can work well in a team and take responsibility for their work. Being punctual and reliable is a must. There will be opportunities to learn and develop a range of skills, including progression onto becoming a machine operator / multi-skilled operative. We are seeking long term, hard-working employees who will grow and develop with us.

Hours of work: 07:00 – 15:30, Monday to Friday, with 1 x 10 minute break and 1 x 30 minute lunch break (40 Hours per Week).

Salary: Starting salary is £10.38 per hour and will be reviewed after 6 months. Payment is made by electronic transfer weekly on a Thursday.

Progression: You will be given opportunities to become a multi-skilled operative, capable of running at least one machine independently, as well as carrying out a range of other tasks. Salary will be reviewed in line with your progression and successful completion of training.

Duties:

  • Be motivated to learn and develop your skills.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ensure the health and safety of you, and your colleagues at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Load and unload sheet materials onto automatic and semi-automatic bonding lines.
  • Work with the machine operators to load and unload sheet materials onto saws and cutting machinery.
  • Sort and grade materials according to given specifications.
  • Measure and check materials according to given dimensional tolerances.
  • Apply protective film to components as required.
  • Record reject and scrap data as required.
  • Scan and apply labels to products correctly where required.
  • This list is not exhaustive and other duties may apply as required by the business.

Where possible we ask that applicants have some of the basic skills required to carry out these operations, however full training will be provided where needed.
